It was a much needed and long awaited demand from the residents of twin cities-Rawalpindi and Islamabad to have their own well organized transport system, which has finally been initiated by PML-N in the form of ‘Metro Bus System’ after its success in Lahore. Perhaps, Islamabad was the only capital of the world which did not have a proper transport system.
Although, this project is laudable, it has some complications, it has been seen that not only have people been displaced but also that hundreds of trees have been cut in Islamabad and Rawalpindi. A tree takes years to grow and even an illiterate person knows how important they are for us, so why is government destroying what took years to grow? In his need for glory, the Prime Minister should not ignore ecological needs of the city; he should pass a directive to save the green belt.
