Unilever for collectiveaction for sustainability
LAHORE (PR): Unilever Pakistan has called for collective action as a means of enhancing the positive impact of social & economic development and climate change efforts across the country.
The announcement was made at a round-table conference, organised at a local hotel, as part of Unilever’s annual update on sustainability efforts in Pakistan. The update was a means of providing an insight into the role of sustainable business practices for Unilever’s growth as well as the positive impact on consumers and environment.
The session also included presentations by representatives of Google Pakistan, Plan International, Standard Chartered Bank and the Kingdom of the Netherlands, who emphasized the need for collaborative action to increase the impact of various development projects that these organizations have initiated across the country. Shazia Syed, Chairperson and CEO, Unilever Pakistan, also spoke on the occasion.
Commendation certificates
KARACHI (PR): Air Chief Sohail Aman has awarded commendation certificates to Numan Nabi Ahmed, CEO, The Brand Partnership, and Sohail Kidwai, CEO Shaheen Insurance for their outstanding services to PSF.
These certificates were presented, on his behalf, at Karachi by AVM (R) Razi Nawab, DMD, Shaheen Foundation. AVM Razi, who is the vice president of PSF, said that the recently concluded PSF event has set new standards and the support extended by the two recipients of the certificate towards its success is greatly valued by the Air Chief.
MAP president
KARACHI (PR): Management Association of Pakistan, in its 540th executive committee meeting held recently, elected unopposed Syed Masood Hashmi as the president for another one year period.
Hashmi was earlier elected unopposed as the president following 49th AGM of MAP in the 531st executive body meeting of MAP on 27th April, 2015.
Punjab College open house
LAHORE (PR): Punjab Group of Colleges conducted an open house for entry test preparation. A large number of students along with their parents attended the session. The core purpose was to brief the students about the academic facilities available at Punjab Colleges for the preparation of entry tests. They were informed about the success rate of students getting admissions in medical colleges, engineering universities and other professional institutions after they get coaching from our experts. They were guided about career paths in professional education too.
Huawei largest producer of broadband network
LAHORE (PR): Technology has brought the people near, virtually eliminating the hurdles of communication and data transforming. The technology giant is the largest producer of broadband network in the world, both, in terms of services and the equipment. A senior official of Huawei has described the future of the company stating that Huawei is preparing for the most advanced technological innovations. Huawei has been emphasizing to achieve the best of the vision as described in the science fiction movies like The Matrix. According to Huawei official, the company has been working on the large data transforming with a highly improved speed. Cloudification and larger data storage is also an ultimate pursuit of the company.

PHCF organises session on women empowerment
LAHORE (PR): Pakistan Human Capital Forum (PHCF) Mughal chapter organised a session on women empowerment/women leadership here at a local hotel. Among the speakers were Arshia Saquib, HRBP-Organisational Wellbeing at COCA Cola Beverages Pakistan; Amra Mubashar, Lead Culture, Engagement & Diversity for Asia Pacific at PEPSI Co International and Sabeen Khalid, Head Talent Acquisition, Development and Communication at TOTAL Parco Pakistan Limited. While the keynote was given by Jawad Khan, CEO Punjab Skills Development Fund.
The session was moderated by Umer Saeed Khan, Founder & Lead Activator at ACTIV8.
All the speakers stressed upon the women-to-women support and comradeship, also it was enunciated that workplaces need to be gender diverse which will enable the 50 percent of this country’s population which are women to play their role and build up their capabilities and help industry and economy.
The women speakers stated that as they have paved the way for the others to lean in, they are very hopeful of coming forward on merit and to achieve the top positions in all professional roles. The discussion also touched another important point that of male role as supporting partner in women career pathway.
The session concluded with questions and comments from the participants. Millat begins export of Massey Ferguson tractors
LAHORE (PR): Millat Tractors Limited has started export of Massey Ferguson 300 Series tractors to Africa and Middle Eastern countries. First shipment of MF tractors manufactured by Millat in Pakistan was dispatched to Zimbabwe on May 21, 2016. The 300 Series tractors were highly appreciated by the African and Middle Eastern customers on its launch in April ‘16 in Africa.
The export order is in line with the joint agreement reached between Millat Tractors & its principal, AGCO (UK), for export to Middle East and African countries which is pride for Pakistan.
It is worth mentioning that Millat is offering the best internationally priced tractors in the world being the result of more than 90%localization level achieved by the company. Along with the product up-gradation, the export of tractors will not only help support the local vending industry but would also help improve the quality of the tractors as per the International standards.
