Man arrested over Australia ‘terror’ plot

SYDNEY:- A Sydney-based man was arrested on Thursday on charges of planning a terrorist attack in Australia, which reportedly involved targeting a naval base close to the capital’s famous opera house, police said. The 24-year-old, named in local media as Farhad Said, was charged with “conspiracy to conduct an act in preparation for a terrorist act” after being seized by counter-terrorism police outside his home in the suburb of Bankstown.–AFP
