ISLAMABAD - National Cricket Club stunned mighty Islamabad Hawks by 7 runs in the ICA/North Zone/Preston University T20 Championship match played here at National Ground on Thursday.

Batting first, National Club posted 183-2 in 20 overs with Umair Abbasi smashing unbeaten 67 and Kamran Shah 63. In reply, Islamabad Hawks could score 176-5 with Irshad hitting 50 and Farman Ullah 39. Umair took 2-25 and Bilal Ahmed 2-28.

In the second match of the day, Essco thrashed Shaheen by 9 wickets. Batting first, Shaheen Club were bundled out for only 78 in 18 overs with only Awais Mehmood contributing significant 20. Waqar Ali captured 4-7 while Hassan Ali grabbed 4-37. Essco chased the target easily for the loss of just one wicket in just 6.2 overs. M Naqash hammered brisk 44 and Umar Nawaz Khan contributed 33.

In the third match of the day, Islamabad Greeners routed Tigers by 6 wickets. Tigers, batting first, posted 145-8 with Mir Wali scoring 57 and Ibrar Ahmed Warsi 27. Babar Zubair picked up 3-20. In reply, Greeners achieved the target 17.2 over for the loss of 4 wickets. Shahzad Masih slammed unbeaten 54 and Ghazanfar Farooq thwarted 35. M Furqan took 2-30.

In the fourth and last match of the day, Islamabad Gymkhana beat Evans by 7 wickets. Batting first, Evans were all out for 111 in 19.3 overs with M Zeeshan hitting 36. Hamza Ali clinched 3-19. In reply, Islamabad Gymkhana chased down the target in 16 overs for the loss of 3 wickets. Azan Tariq hammered 59. Kamil Gill took 2-14.
