PESHAWAR - At least six persons, including four militants, were killed and several others injured on Wednesday as a result of two separate incidents in Peshawar. According to details, an encounter took place between a group of militants and police on Ring Road in Acheeni, a village near Hayatabad. The police personnel killed one of the militants and injured two others. Later police captured the injured ones. All the remaining militants successfully managed to flee from the place. Despite that police personnel kept on chasing them and another encounter took place close to Sakhi Bridge in Bara region of Khyber Agency. No loss of life has been reported as a result of the second encounter. Meanwhile, three militants and two civilians were killed and six others injured as a result of armed clashes between militants and local residents of Matani village, the outskirts of Peshawar. The clashes started when Taliban militants attacked the house of Union Council Nazim, Abdul Malik, late Tuesday night. First the militants targeted the house of Abdul Malik with rockets and later they entered in person. However, Abdul Malik and his relatives received help of the dwellers from all over the area. On the other hand, the unknown militants also fired five rockets against different parts of Peshawar city on mid night between Tuesday and Wednesday. One of these rockets landed over the residence of a doctor in Hassan Garhi whereas the remaining landed on Warsak and Pachagi Roads. No any casualty reported so far.
