Prof Sharif gets Distinguished National Teacher title

LAHORE - The HEC has conferred the title of Distinguished National Professor on Prof Dr Muhammad Sharif, Department of Mathematics, Punjab University, in recognition of his contributions to the field and to honour his achievements.
Prof Dr Sharif has already been awarded Izaz-i-Fazeelat, Tamgha-i-Imtiaz by Government of Pakistsan during 2007 and 2008 respectively, Best University Teacher Award by HEC during 2008 and Gold Medal in Mathematics in 2009 by Pakistan Academy of Sciences. He has worked on a variety of research problems in General Relativity. He has been supervising a number of MPhil/PhD students and has produced 28 MPhil and 4 PhD scholars.
He has published more than 120 research papers in journals with non-zero impact factor and participated in more than 45 seminars in different international/national conferences. He has been a member of different international societies and acting as a referee for different international journals.
Best teacher award
The HEC has announced best University Teacher Award for the year 2009 for Dr Prof Ismat Naeem of Chemestry, Lahore College for Women University. Ismat has published 50 research papers in last three years in national and international journalism and had supervised a number of MS/PhD research students. She also established linkage with School of Pharmacy and Biological Science, University of Portsmouth under HEC-BC Link II and completed two research projects funded by HEC.
