LAHORE Customs, NBP and Army scored wins in the All Pakistan NBP Gold Cup Hockey Tournament while HEC and Sindh match ended in a draw at Faisalabad Hockey Stadium on Saturday. In the first match of the day, Customs beat Railways 2-0. For Customs, M Asif and Asad Bashir scored one goal each. In the second match, NBP crushed Balochistan 11-0. For NBP, M Dilber (3 goals), M Atiq (2 goals), Naeem Akbar (2 goals), were the notable scorers. In the third match, HEC hold with Sindh 4-4. For HEC, Shaheryar, M Zohaib, Ali Hassan and M Haseeb scored one goal each while for Sindh Zohaib Khan (2 goals), Shujaat and Rizwan netted one goal each. In the last match of the day, Army outclassed Port Qasim 8-1. For Army, Abdul Jabbar scored 3 goals, Hassan Arif 2 goals, Qasim, Shahid and Fahad Ali scored one goal each. For Port Qasim Abbas Haider scored one goal. Abdul Awais Khan of Port Qasim has been banned by Tournament Director for misbehaving with the umpire Rana Liaqat. Olympian M Khalid was the chief guest on the last match.
