OUR STAFF REPORTER CHINIOT The local social, political and business circles have expressed grave concern over the traffic mess in the city, saying that the traffic situation has gone from bad to worst in Chiniot. They said that there were hour long traffic jams in the city and its surrounding areas during the peak hours. The girl students have to face great difficulties while passing through the prolonged traffic jams which have now become a daily routine. There is no concept of one way traffic system in the city. The busy long route from Madrastul Binate to Chowk Kasba Road and furniture market situated on Shahra-e-Quaid-e-Azam Road, traffic jam, nearly twelve hours ever day They citizens draw the attention of district and Tehsil Municipal authorities about the traffic mess which has been causing great inconvenience to the citizens, students, patients because on the route two hospitals, four high and middle schools are situated. They lamented despite severe problems the public has been facing, no action could be taken by the authorities concerned to address the issue. When contacted, local Traffic Police officials said that they were unable to control the traffic, saying that the office timings of almost all the government and private educational institutions were the same due to which traffic often remained jammed. Human Welfare Society President Shoukat Ali Azad, Anjuman-e-Tajran President Haji Amjad Ali, Jamil, Ahmad Fakhri Saddiq and Mujahid Rizwanul Haq expressed their grave concern over the situation. They demanded DCO Dr Arshad Ahmad and DPO Chiniot Rana Shahzad Akbar to take effective measures to give relief to the local perturbed people.
