LAHORE – Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Monday said that the provision of resources to the youth to impart modern knowledge was a highly useful investment besides carrying long-term affect on the future of the nation and the country.

The CM expressed these views while presiding over a high-level meeting regarding laptops distribution programme in which it was established that the whole consignment of laptops would reach Lahore till December 10 following which 2nd phase of laptops distribution among the students would commence.

He said that the Punjab government had adopted a concrete strategy to impart latest knowledge to the younger generation. He said that during the previous year, 12,5000 laptops were distributed purely on merit among the brilliant girl and boy students throughout the province. And during the current year, over 100,000 latest laptops, costing Rs4b are also being distributed among students of morning and evening classes.

The CM said that IT labs were present at more than 4000 high schools throughout the province, from which students from Attock to Rahim Yar Khan were benefitting. He said the provision of all-out resources would be ensured for the welfare of youth.
