ISLAMABAD – The Ministry of Capital Administration and Development (CAD) started cleanliness campaign at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) Monday.

About 450 employees of the ministry and school and colleges, Capital Administration Authority and PIMS were engaged to cut the bushes and unattended wild trees of 150 acres areas of the hospital. The campaign will continue for four more days or till the completion of the task.

PIMS ED Dr. Warraich, while briefing the media about the drive, said upto October 22 as many as 450 trolleys of waste/garbage were disposed of at the PIMS premises. Dump machines of cleanliness got repaired/rehabilitated. Now all machines are functional and under the use for cleanliness of floors wash rooms.

All Heads of Departments are empowered and made them responsible for the cleanliness of their department wards and areas.

A team of ten sweepers is constituted and assign duties to take care of cleanliness of lawns and other open areas of hospital round the clock. Signboards for cleanliness will be placed within a week.

Senate Chairman Syed Nayyar Hussain Bukhari, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira, Minister for CAD Nazar Mohammad Gondal, Private Educational Institutes Regulatory Authority (PEIRA) Chairman Atif Kayani, former Chairman of Prime Minister’s Task Force Faisal Sakhi Butt, PIMS ED and other officials of education institutes also joined the employees at lunch to boost their morale.
