KEMU syndicate meeting

LAHORE - Syndicate of King Edward Medical University (KEMU) on Monday provided legal cover to the management decision of vacating a hostel in Mayo Hospital from boy students and their shifting to old hostel on Hall Road.
The building in the premises of Mayo Hospital, to be vacated from boy students, would be given to girl students for residential purpose. The girl hostel, also existing in the hospital premises, has been declared dangerous, causing the management to go for the option of shifting inmates to safer place.
As, according to the management, one of the boy hostels in the hospital premises is more suitable place to house girl students, it decides to go for this option.
As per the Syndicate decision, the girl students (62 per cent of the KEMU) will stay in the building originally allocated for boys. The boys will be shifted to another boy hostel ion Hall Road till construction of girl hostel.
KEMU Pro Vice Chancellor Prof Assad Aslam chaired the Syndicate meeting also participated by Special Secretary Health, Additional Secretary Higher Education, Deputy Secretary Finance, Medical Superintendent Mayo Hospital, MS Lady Welligdon Hospital, MS Lady Aitchison Hospital and faculty members of KEMU.
