ISLAMABAD - SNGPL posted 213/6 against SBP on the opening day of the G-1 President’s Trophy (2012-2013) here at the National cricket ground on Monday.

Put into bat first, SNGPL made 213/6, Taufiq Umar made 26, Azeem Ghumman (25) and Rizwan was unbeaten 77 with seven fours. Rizwan Haider took 3/61 and M Ali got 2/64.

In another match, put into bat first, Port Qasim have scored 293/2 at Diamond ground against HBL. Umar Amin scored  unbeaten 97, Khurrum Manzoor made 74, while Usman Tariq scored 64.

At Marghazar ground: ZTBL piled up 407/4 in 82 overs against UBL., Sharjeel Khan made 141, Haris Sohail scored unbeaten 103and Imran Nazir made 55. Shabbir and Asif Jabbar were the successful bowlers.

At KRL Stadium: KRL had reached 80/2 in 29 overs. Tayyab Riaz made 25 while Zain Abbas scored 20. Earlier National Bank were bundled out for 124 in 44.4 overs after put into bat first. Anwar Hafeez remained unbeaten at 45. Ali Khan got 5/11 while M. Irfan took 4/43.

Meanwhile, Pakistan cricket team head coach Dav Whatmore and bowling coach M Akram visited KRL cricket stadium to witness Grade-I President’s Trophy match between KRL and National Bank of Pakistan on Monday.

Whatmore remained at the ground till the afternoon and then he and Akram went to Diamond cricket ground to watch the Port Qasim and Habib Bank Ltd match. He praise Test discarded Umar Amin for his batting and termed him a future prospect for Pakistan after witnessing his batting techniques. Umar Amin cracked a splendid unbeaten knock of 97 against HBL.

Whatmore during a formal chat with the scribe said that they would monitor the players in the upcoming national T/20 championship and those performed well would get a chance to showcase their abilities for the national side.
