LAHORE – Pakistan Cricket Board on Monday decided that there would be no day and night matches and only day matches would be held in the Faysal Bank Twenty20 Cup which was shifted from Karachi to Lahore.

The Twenty20 event would be played here at the three different venues including Gaddafi Stadium from December 2 to 10. A high level meeting of PCB held on Monday to make preparations for the event and to host it in a befitting manner, the source said and added the meeting was attended by PCB Director General Javed Miandad, Director Domestic Zakir Khan and other concerned officials of the board and LRCA president Khawaja Nadeem Ahmad.

“The meeting focused on holding the event in Lahore after its shifting from Karachi and. The preparations have been started and we are confident to complete all the arrangements well before the time,” the source said.

The LRCA chief also gave his input on various matters of the event and promised to extend his full support to the board in holding it successfully. “We are always with the PCB for supplementing its efforts for the cause of cricket and welcome the organisation of Twenty20 Cup,” he said.

It is also learnt that the LRCA chief is assisting the board in holding the event in the city as he has close relations with Punjab government high ups. The sources disclosed that the LRCA chief is going to manage a meeting between Miandad-led PCB delegation and Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif in which the delegation will discuss matters regarding holding of T20 event and also extend an invitation to the Punjab CM to witness the matches as a chief guest.

Meanwhile, the preparations started at the Gaddafi Stadium to make the arena fit for the matches. Chief ground man Haji M Bashir also began preparations of the wickets for the mega national event.
