KARACHI  - Ambassador of Bosnia & Herzegovina Nadim Makarevic and Acting President of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Muffasar A. Malik have stressed the need for enhancing trade relations between Pakistan and Bosnia as immense potential for undertaking joint ventures in various sectors of economy exists between the two countries.

Exchanging views with KCCI office bearers and Managing Committee members during his visit to KCCI, Nadim Makarevic, Ambassador of Bosnia & Herzegovina informed that his country has the advantage of being the only Muslim country in the entire Europe and Pakistan can benefit from Bosnia’s presence in the heart of Europe by strengthening trade relations with Bosnia.

The Ambassador informed that Bosnia was willing to export food items including sweets, chocolates, coffee, biscuit and other confectionary and dairy products. In this regard, he asked KCCI to assist in promoting Bosnian products in Pakistan.

He further highlighted the need for undertaking joint ventures and enhanced interaction between the business communities of both countries in order to expand trade ties between the two countries. He said that Bosnia offers massive opportunities for undertaking joint ventures in coal, marble and granite sectors etc. Pakistani businessmen can either invest in these sectors or undertake joint ventures with their Bosnian counterparts. Nadim Makarevic assured that Pakistani businessmen willing to visit Bosnia or planning to undertake joint ventures will face no problems in obtaining business visas.

Vice President KCCI, Muhammad Idrees, Business Promoter of Bosnian Embassy in Pakistan, Mir Mukkaram Zehri, former President KCCI, Haroon Agar, former SVP KCCI, Shamim Ahmed Firpo and Managing Committee members including Naveed Farooki, Durr-e-Shahwar Nisar, Asif Nisar, Shehzad Mobeen, Agha Shahab, Zafar Saeed Baghpatee and others were also present on the occasion.
