Pak special Olympians leave for Australia

KARACHI - Pakistan contingent comprising 60 special athletes, 18 coaches and three officials will leave from Karachi for New Castle, Australia, today (Wednesday) by Cathay Pacific flight to participate in Special Olympics Asia Pacific Games 2013, said a press release issued on Tuesday. Pakistani contingent will assemble at Karachi airport at 8 pm and will move to departure lounge for check in at 9pm. Pakistan will compete in seven sports out of total nine being included in the Special Olympics Asia Pacific Games while more than 2000 athletes from 32 nations across the globe will take part in the weeklong mega event in Australia. The opening ceremony will be held at New Castle’s Hunter Stadium on December 1 while event will be concluded on December 7. Sports Desk
