PESHAWAR - As many as five passengers died while three others sustained injuries when a passenger coach collided head on with a car in Lower Dir district on Thursday. According to police, a passenger coach (1648-C) heading towards Peshawar collided head on with a Timergara-bound car at Katkala, in the limits of Ouch police station.

As a result, five persons riding the car died while three passengers from the coach got injuries. The deceased were identified as Syed Imran Shah S/o Syed Abdurrahman Shah, Sajid s/o Rahim Jan, Aziz Urrahman s/o Azam Khan, Tariq s/o Kalaa Khan and Naveed s/o Nadir all hailing from Nishtar Abad area in Peshawar.

The injured are Mir Salam, Hayat Khan and Gula Khan all hailing from Sheena village in Samarbagh in Lower Dir. The dead and the injured were shifted to a local hospital. 

The local police said that after the powerful collision the car was burnt completely.

The police have started investigation into the mishap.
