Islamabad - The intelligence agencies have feared law and order situation at 62 buildings on November 30, the day fixed for the Local Governments’ election in the federal capital.
The Election Commission of Pakistan has sought deployment of army personnel at these sensitive polling stations to avoid law and order. The list of the polling stations was prepared by the Special Branch of Islamabad police, which also reflected reasons for declaring the buildings as sensitive.
The sensitive polling stations fall in the jurisdiction of different police station. PS Karachi Company: Islamabad Model School No. 1 Gali 30, near Pervez Market Sector G-8/4; Islamabad Model School for Girls near Shad Market, Sector G-8/2; Islamabad Model College for Girls Sector G-9/2 (the son of a trader was killed during traders’ election due to which there is tension between the rival parties); Islamabad Model School No. 3 near Haideri Market Sector G-9/2 (the local population is illiterate, uncivilised and of aggressive behaviour).
PS Bhara Kahu: Government Model School for Boys, Uthaal; Government Boys and Girls School Phulgran; Government Boys School Col. Amanullah Road; Government Model School for Girls Shah Pur (there is persistent tension between locals and Pathan population). PS Loi Bher: Islamabad Model School for Girls, village Loi Bher (all the three candidates belong to the same locality which may cause tension amongst them).
PS Sihala: Islamabad Model School for Girls, Rawat; Islamabad Model College for Girls, Rawat; Islamabad Model School for Boys, Bani Saraan and Islamabad Model College for Boys, Kallar Syedan Road (PPP and PML-N workers clashed on every polling day here). PS Koral: Islamabad Model School for Girls, Ghora Maast (the candidates have old enmity against each other and the locals usually carry weapons); Islamabad Model School for Girls, Kirpa; Islamabad Model School for Boys, Kirpa (scuffle amongst the political workers is a routine at these polling stations); Basic Health Unit, Bhakkar (locals have sectarian attitude); FG Boys School, Koral (the candidates can create law and order); FG Boys School Shareef Abad (The locals have sectarian mindset. The candidates from Khokhar clan are also contesting election from this constituency).
PS Noon: Islamabad Model Primary School, Pind Hoon; Islamabad Model High School for Boys, Noon (old enmities amongst the locals); Islamabad Model School for Girls, Jhangi Syedan; Islamabad Model Primary School, Jhangi Syedan (old enmity between Sadaat and Khan groups). PS Tarnol: Islamabad Model College for Boys, Tarnol; Islamabad Model School for Girls, Sarai Kharbooza (heightened tension between the candidates).
PS Aabpara: Islamabad Model School for Boys No. 2 near 66 quarters, Kachi Abadi Sector G-7/2 (presence of uncivilised Christian community in the constituency); Islamabad Model School No 12 (rigging against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz senator Syed Zafar Ali Shah is feared. “Full effort would be made to defeat the PML-N central leader Syed Zafar Ali Shah” (at this polling station).
PS Khanna: Islamabad Model School for Boys, Shakarial Kurri Road near Nulla Korang, Pindorian; Islamabad Model School for Girls, Shakarial, Kurri Road, near Nulla Korang, Pindorian (tension between the candidates). PS Kohsar: Museum old Mundar, Saidpur; Islamabad Model School for Boys, Saidpur; Islamabad Model School for Boys, Gokeena; Islamabad Model School for Boys, Talhaar (the villagers are uncivilized and of aggressive nature); Islamabad Model School for Boys, sector F-6/2 and Islamabad Model College for Girls No. 1 sector F-7/4 (presence of uncivilized workers of Christian community). PS secretariat: Islamabad Model College for Boys, Ali Pur (political workers of the rural area are of aggressive nature).
PS Shehzad Town: Islamabad Model College for Boys No 15 Chak Shehzad (tension amongst the candidates); Islamabad Model School Chattha Bakhtawar (local population is uncivilized). PS Bani Gala: Islamabad Model School for Boys, Kurri Village (tension exists between PTI and PML-N workers). PS Nilore: Islamabad Model School for Boys Charah Chowk; Girls Secondary School near Charah Dispensary (severe tension between ‘Hum Khyal Group’ and ‘Awam Dost Group’); Girls College ‘Thanda Pani’ (tension amongst the candidates); Model School for Boys Pehont; Girls College village Pehont (tension between PTI And PML-N workers).
PS Industrial Area: Model College for Girls I-9/1 — highly sensitive; School No 2 sector I-9/4 — highly sensitive; Junior Model School No. 39, sector I-9/4 and Junior Model School No 31 sector I-9/1( due to presence of Christian community in the area); Model School I-8/1 (opponent political parties may strive to defeat PTI leader Ali Awan). PS Ramana: Solution Way Primary School, Mera Jaafer; Islamabad Model
High School, Mera Akku; Margalla Valley School System, Mera Jaafer; Preview School System, Mera Jaafer and Islamabad Model School for Girls, Dhrek Mohri (Uncivilised and loafer are abundant in the locality).
PS Sabzi Mandi: IMCB Gali 18, sector I-10/1; Islamabad Model School for Boys, sector I-10/2 (the political workers are already tearing apart banners of the opponent candidates which caused tension amongst the candidates); Islamabad Model School for Girls, sector I-10/4; Islamabad Model College for Girls, sector I-10/4 (presence of uncivilized and loafer in the area). PS Golra: Islamabad Boys Model School, Golra Sharif; Islamabad Boys Model School, Sari Saraal and Islamabad Model School Dhrek Mohri area also amongst the sensitive polling stations . On the other hand, the local police have asked the candidates to surrender their licensed weapons to the respective police stations as the city administration has already banned display and carrying weapons due to the security point of view. The weapons would be returned to the candidates after the Local Governments elections on November 30. Interior Ministry and DC Islamabad office have shared detail of the license holders with the police stations.
