ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali has taken suo moto notice of deaths of children caused by pneumonia and diarrhea; spread of Hepatitis-C and high price of Hepatitis-C medicines.

He has sought comments of Health Secretaries of the four provinces and fixed the case for hearing in the third week of next month.

The CJP took suo moto notice on the petition filed by  Sheraz Mahmood Qureshi resident of Manshera. The petitioner attached the columns and articles of columnists published in national dailies, in which details of adverse condition of health and cleanliness and deaths of children were given.

In a notification issued by the apex court on Friday says that column of Aouria Maqbool was made the part of the petition which says that due to negligence of top officials in Pakistan,, the disease of dyhria and numenia were increasing and due to adverse condition of health and cleanliness hepatitis is being developed.

The petitioner further informed the apex court that due to increase in the disease of hepatitis, the prices of its preventive medicines are being increased.

The CJP while taking sou moto notice of the matters and changing the petition under article 184 (3) of the constitution issued notices to the respondents and adjourned the hearing.
