Rawalpindi-RAWALPINDI – Police have registered a case against two cops for allegedly snatching cash, mobile phone and registration book of motorcycle from a citizen at gunpoint in area of Mareer Hassan, informed sources on yesterday.

The accused cops were identified as Faisal Ramiz and Faisal Javed against whom a case under section 392 PPC were registered with Police Station (PS) Civil Line on complaint of Muhammad Nazir, a citizen, sources added.

However, police could not arrest the accused, they said.

According to sources, Muhammad Ali, hails from Dhoke Gujran, appeared before PS Civil Line officials and lodged a complaint stating that he was going to Katcheri Chowk from Mareer Hassan on his motorcycle when two men riding motorcycle intercepted him near CNG Station at 8:30pm.

He added the men shouted at him to give up cash and other valuables or else they would shoot him.

He said later the criminals snatched Rs 6200, a mobile phone and registration book of his motorcycle from him and fled away towards Katcheri.

The applicant mentioned that he knew through his own sources that the persons were policemen identified as Faisal Javed and Faisal Ramiz.

Taking action, a case was registered against the cops with no arrest or recovery so far.

SHO PS Civil Line Malik Aftab, when contacted, said the two dacoits involved in dacoity were policemen.

However, he said one of the cops identified as Faisal Javed was dismissed from service, whereas the other cop Faisal Ramiz was serving in Police Station Kotli Sattian as head constable.

On the other hand, armed dacoits snatched motorcycle, cash and other valuables from a student at gunpoint within limit of Police Station Sadiqabad.

According to details, a student Imran was going to drop his sister to school on his motorcycle when unknown armed dacoits intercepted him in Khurram Colony at gunpoint and snatched his motorcycle, mobile phone and cash and ran away.

The victim approached area police for legal action against the dacoits.
