ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will accept the Supreme Court decision on Panamagate, whatever would it be as “justice is on trial and not the PTI”.

Imran Khan said this in an informal chat with reporters who cover the Supreme Court at his residence, here on Saturday.

Shafqat Mehmood, Jehangir Tareen, Naeemul Haq and Advocate Faisal Chaudhry were also present during the interaction.

Khan said that the PTI before approaching the apex court had raised the Panama leaks issue at other forums and even in the Parliament but when nothing happened they filed the petitions against the prime minister and his children in the case.

“Whatever the judgment come, the PTI would accept it and after that it would go to people and start preparations for the next general elections,” the PTI leader said.

There are a lot of lacunas in the testimonies of Nawaz Sharif and his family in the Panama Leaks case.

“We would provide more evidence, which we have brought from London,” he said.

Khan said that those documents would be provided to the apex court to prove Nawaz Sharif’s corruption.

“We have in our possession the property documents, which were attached and released in the Hudabia Paper Mills case,” the PTI leader said.

The PTI chairperson said Hamid Khan, the PTI counsel, had read complete speeches of Nawaz Sharif in order to set the tone of the case.

He said that the Qatari prince’s letter came as a big surprise to the nation.

“I like to argue the case myself but there are legal issues involved in it,” the PTI chairperson said. “All the institutions instead of doing their job are busy trying to protect Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his family. We have already declared our assets besides that Federal Board of Revenue and the National Accountability Bureau are after me and Jehangir Tareen,” he said.

“The government is destroying the institutions,” the PTI chairperson added.

Khan said that the PTI had succeeded politically and he was fully confident that it would corroborate its stance with sustainable evidence saying inaction of the government institutions forced the PTI to take to the streets.

He said that the money trail of Nawaz Sharif family had to be proved.

“It is not our job to produce documents as all the institutions are under the control of the government and not the PTI,” Imran said.

“We are successful in our struggle as the prime minister’s case is now before the apex court,” he said.

The PTI chairperson said that if there would be no corruption then investment would come in the country and the institutions would be strengthened.

He said that if the NAB performed its duties then corruption could be eliminated from the country.

Imran Khan said that it was a settled principal all around the world that the opposition parties staged protest to create pressure on the government upon failing of government institutions to deliver.

He said that corruption was the largest issue of the country, which needed to be addressed through appointment of eligible persons at the top level purely on merit.

Imran Khan said that Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar’s affidavit were available in money laundering matters but no institution such as the FBR or the State Bank of Pakistan was taking any steps in that regard.
