QUETTA - Two security guards of a private oil and gas exploring company were shot dead by unidentified miscreants in Pasni Town of Gwadar Saturday.

According to Levies sources, the killers resorted to firing at two security guards of CGE Company in the area of Dando Clanch, some 70 kilometres from Pasni. The guards succumbed to serious bullet injuries while the culprits succeeded in running away in the company’s vehicle. The company staffers, however, remained safe in the firing incident, said the Levies sources.

One of the security guards was from Swabi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and the others from Sialkot, Punjab.

On receiving information of the incident, security personnel of Balochistan Frontier Corps, police and levies rushed to the scene and started investigation.

The banned Baloch National Front (BNF) claimed the responsibility for the attack. BNF spokesman Gheram Baloch said they gunned down the security guards and also looted arms and their vehicle. He said the company was busy in exploration of gas and oil in Gwadar, Pasni and surrounding areas which is part of the CPEC, adding no such project was acceptable sans the accent of Baloch nation and such attacks would continue.


One person was killed and another injured in a landmine blast in the Chattar area of Dera Murad Jamali Saturday.

According to police sources, the land mine had been planted by anti-state elements, adding the law-enforcement agencies had rounded up several persons. After the blast, the police and other law-enforcement agencies started search for the miscreants.


The security forces killed two terrorists in exchange for firing in Mastung on Saturday. Another terrorist was also arrested during the action.

According to details, the personnel of law enforcing agencies conducted search operation in areas of Azizabad and Kank of district Mastung wherein they killed two terrorists in a gunbattle.

Huge cache of weapons was also recovered during the search operation.
