Haider orders action against negligent officials

MIRPUR (AJK)-Four days after suicide attempt by a perplexed electricity consumer in Mirpur, AJK Premier Raja Farooq Haider Khan Sunday took notice of the incident and ordered stern action against the officials responsible for ignoring public complaints.
In a statement issued from Prime Minister’s Secretariat, the premier said that the government departments are for public service and any kind of negligence on the part of officials is intolerable. “Employees are bound to resolve public grievances; if administration receives any complaint regarding corruption of an official, the suspect must be penalized” the AJK PM maintained. The PM asked the officers to complete inquiry report on the incident and submitted its copy to the PM secretariat.
As reported earlier, a power consumer, Ansar Najeeb of Thothal, Wednesday, attempted to committed suicide in front of local offices of the AJK Electricity Department by setting himself on fire after his repeated complaints concerning excessive billing were neglected by the officials. He was rushed to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of local divisional headquarters hospital where he is being treated.

AJK Premier Raja Farooq Haider Khan congratulated the newly-elected members of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Bar Council.
In his message on Sunday, he hoped that the new members would utilize their capabilities to ensure the supremacy of Constitution besides endeavours for speedy justice to masses. The PM said that role of lawyers have a significant role in supremacy of the rule of law and democratic stability.
The AJK PM also congratulated the first-ever newly-elected female president of Abbaspur Press Club Saira Chughtai. In a message of felicitation to the first lady president of any Press Club in AJK, Premier Haider said that the state’s women are educated and talented in the field of journalism. He also congratulated other new members of Abbaspur Press Club.
