/Agencies/HAFIZABAD/TOBA TEK SINGH/SAHIWAL/FAISALABAD-As many as 13 persons including a man and his two children died in various road accidents occurred in different areas over the past 48 hours.
In Hafizabad, a young man and his mother died when a truck hit the bike they were riding near Chowki Sukheke.
According to police source, Khurram Shahzad, son of Gulzar Ahmad along with his mother Tazeem Bibi of Fatehki village was on way to nearby village on his bike. As they reached near Chowki Sukheke, a truck (P-8877), coming from opposite direction, hit the bike. As result both the youth and his mother died on the spot. The truck driver sped away after the accident. The police have registered a case against the driver and shifted the dead bodies to the morgue for legal formalities.
In Toba Tek Singh, two motorcyclists died and 13 others got injured when bus overturned here after hitting a motorcycle.
The Rajana police said that Multan-bound bus, coming from Faisalabad, when it reached near Kot Khitran on Toba-Kamalia Road, it ran over a motorcycle, coming from the opposite direction and then overturned. As a result both bike riders died instantly. They were identified as Barkat Ali of Kamalia and Ihsanul Haq of Rajana, Chak 269/GB. Rescue 1122 shifted the injured bus passengers to DHQ Hospital.
In Sahiwal, three members of a same family died and another got injured in a road accident on GT Road near Shalimar Chowk, Chichawatni here on Sunday.
According to rescue and police sources, one Tasawwar along with his son Muntazir Hussain and seven-year-old daughter Tasha was going to Multan on a motorbike from Chak 44-12/L. As he reached Shalimar Chowk, a speeding truck hit the bike.
As a result, all three died on the spot, while a cyclist passing nearby sustained injuries.
The police impounded the truck and started investigation against the runaway driver.
On the other hand, in Faisalabad, six persons including a child died in different road accidents in and around Faisalabad city over the past 24 hours.
Police spokesman said here Sunday that, a speeding tractor-trolley hit to death a five-year-old Ahmad Ali, son of Ghulam Dastgir, resident of Chak 36/JB, whereas a speeding dumper truck crushed to death a 40-year-old unknown pedestrian on Boraywal road.
Similarly, Muhammad Aslam (70), resident of Chak 93/RB was died on-the-sopt when a motorcycle hit him near Chak 61/RB while crossing the road.
In another accident, Abdul Ghaffar (35) was killed during a collision between a tractor-trolley and a pickup van near Khannuana bypass.
Meanwhile, in a collision between two motorcycles on Jhang Road, Zafar ullah (26), resident of Chak 468/JB was died on the spot while Muhammad Afzal, resident of Chak 39/GB was killed when a speeding van hit the two-wheeler near Jhal Khannuana on Jaranwala-Sitiana Road.
