Closure of all educational institutions in the country and ceasing all academic activities in the country is no answer to the threat of terrorism. It is tantamount to saying to the terrorists, That is what you wanted and That is what we have done it. We are almost paralyzed on almost all fronts as things are. Are we going to cripple Pakistan totally? Are we soon going to hear the government tell us that people should stop going out of their houses because of the threat from these handful of terrorists? Instead of this eyewash that we see everyday on the box, the government should start doing the basic and necessary function of providing protection to the ordinary citizens. We need to face this with courage. We engaged willingly in this war against terrorism ourselves. Let us not debate now whether we did right or wrong. We did. Let us get into saddle and go for these terrorists. All roads lead to Waziristan, says our Rehman Malik. And they do -AMJAD HABIB MIRZA, Lahore, October 23.
