LAHORE Dacoits went on the rampage here in the City, looted houses, shops, families and motorists, and made off with cash, gold ornaments and other valuables worth Rs 3.5 million during 20 times successfully strike in different parts of the provincial metropolis, police sources said on Wednesday. Five dacoits equipped with automatic weapons barged into the house of Sajjad situated in Madina Bazaar in Liaqatabad police and took away cash, gold ornaments and other valuables worth Rs 720,000 after holding the inmates hostage at gunpoint. A car-rider Riaz was on his way home when three gunmen intercepted him in (Nargis block) Iqbal Town. The robbers held him up at gunpoint and snatched away cash, prize bonds and other valuables worth Rs 1.3 million. Another car-rider Muhammad Bilal along with his family was on his way home when two motorcyclists intercepted him in PIA Housing Society in Satu Katla police area. The robbers held up the couple at gunpoint and snatched away cash and gold ornaments worth Rs 410,000. The police have registered the case and are investigating. Zulifqar Ali told the police that he along with his family riding on a car was on his way to a market when two gunmen, also on a car intercepted him in Ghalib Market police vicinity. The bandits held up the family members at gunpoint and escaped after collecting cash, gold ornaments and cellular phones worth Rs 135,000. Shahid was on his way home when two gunmen riding on a motorcycle intercepted him in Nawab Town police area. He was deprived of Rs 90,000 at gunpoint. Two gunmen riding on a motorcycle intercepted Muhammad Zubair near Childrens Hospital in Naseerabad police area. The robbers deprived him of cash and mobile phone worth Rs 80,000. Two robbers held up Mian Qadir in Shera Kot police vicinity and snatched away his motorcycle (LEX-7361) at gunpoint. Two robbers stopped another motorcyclist, Mohsin, near Flats stop in Faisal Town police area and fled away after snatching cash and mobile phone worth Rs 16,000 at gunpoint. In the same Faisal Town police precincts, another two bandits held up Fareed at gunpoint and deprived him of cash and other valuables worth Rs 41,000. Two motorcyclists equipped with pistols stopped Shakoor near a filling station in Nishtar Colony police area. The robbers held him up at gunpoint and snatched away Rs 70,000 from him. A car-rider, Rahmat Ali, was on his way home when two motorcyclists intercepted him in Kahna police area. The bandits took out guns and snatched away Rs 200,000 from him. Five dacoits forced their entry into the medical store of Khurum situated in Ichra police area. The robbers held him up at gunpoint and took away Rs 150,000 from him. The same bandits also looted four adjacent shops in broad daylight and fled away after collecting cash and valuables worth tens of thousands of rupees. The police have registered only single robbery that too place at medical store. A motorcyclist, Pervaiz, was on the way to his office when two gunmen stopped him in Wahdat Colony police area. The bandits snatched away his motorcycle (LER-1117) after holding the man hostage at gunpoint. Another motorcyclist, Muhammad Imran along with his wife was coming back after attending a wedding party when two robbers riding on a car stopped him in Sabzazar police area. The robbers held up the couple and escaped after snatching cash and gold ornaments worth Rs 92,000. A vegetable vendor, Kashif, was on his way to the market when two motorcyclists intercepted him in Ravi Road police vicinity. He was deprived of Rs 47,000 at gunpoint. Two gunmen held up Irfan near Moon Market in Gulshan-e-Ravi police area and snatched away Rs 21,000 from him. A motorcyclist, Irshad, along with his wife was on his way home when two gunmen intercepted him near Chuhng police training center, located in the precincts of Chuhng police.
