SAHIWAL - A senior surgeon on Tuesday called for effective steps to curb the fatal virus of dengue. Addressing a seminar on awareness about dengue at the Government Girls College Sahiwal, Dr Sohail Qureshi said that cleanliness was needed to get rid of the mosquito-borne disease. He said that every citizen should cooperate with government departments busy in cleanliness of streets, neighbourhoods and markets. Speaking on the occasion, College Principal Shaheen Ahad called upon the students to ensure cleanliness in their houses to put an end to dengue. She said that all responsible citizens should participate in the Punjab governments Qadam Bharao, Dengue Makao campaign. She said the citizens should fulfil their national obligation of waging a war against dengue. College teachers Rizwana Trimzi, Shifa Tariq and Armahana Zain and a large number of students participated in the seminar.
