Probe into gas supply to industrial sector urged

OUR STAFF REPORTER ISLAMABAD All Pakistan CNG Association (APCNGA) Central Chairman Ghiyas Abdullah Paracha in a statement has demanded of the government to initiate an inquiry against the gas allocation to industrial sector during peak winter seasons of last two years, which has resulted in artificial gas crisis in the country. Blatant violation of prescribed rules and regulations regarding gas allocation to industrial sector during peak winter has caused artificial gas crisis in the country. He was of the view that only one percent difference costs to the industrial sector if they shift to alternative fuels in peak season, which would ultimately benefit to the consumers including farmers, domestic consumers, Compressed Natural Gas and Urea plants. Ghiyas Abdullah Paracha said that gas should be allocated to those consumers that do not have alternative options to run their businesses. He, however, was hopeful that the incumbent government would abide by the terms agreements in this regard.
