ISLAMABAD Former chief of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Qazi Hussain Ahmed Wednesday said that the participants of 'Centre for Discussion & Solution recognised the need for the restoration of Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA). The formal decision for the restoration of MMA would be made in the presence of all erstwhile partners of MMA, said Qazi Hussain Ahmed, addressing a press conference, after the meeting of 'Centre for Discussions and Solution that was constituted to evolve consensus over national and economical issues of the country. To a question that Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Munawar Hassan was the main hurdle in the restoration of MMA, Qazi Hussain Ahmed strongly disagreed with this. We will sort out all the hurdles with the consensus of all erstwhile partners and the restoration of the MMA would be made possible, he added. To another question, he said that the meeting of 'Centre for Discussions and Solution was not the forum to properly restore the MMA. However, the need for the restoration of the MMA was recognized in the meeting. Stating about the centre activities, he said that the centre was constituted to make develop consensus over national issues and its five meetings have already been held. He said the participants from different parties jointly developed consensus to adopt same line against the threats on ideological basis. Qazi Hussain Ahmed said that all the participants agreed to the protection of integrity, sovereignty and strategic assets of Pakistan. It was unanimously agreed to work to resolve the problems of masses. It was decided in the meeting to prepare a joint agenda on economical and political fronts. The other participants included Allama Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi, Senator Maulana Gul Naseeb Khan, Hafiz Abdurrahman Maki, Senator Prof Khursheed Ahmed, Syed Haroon Ali Gilani, Sahibzada Sultan Ahmed Ali, Hamid Raza Bhatti, Hafiz Tariq, Mufti Syed Adnan Kaka Khail, Maulana Abdul Malik, Maulana Abdul Rauf Malik, and others.
