MULTAN –Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf President Makhdoom Javed Hashmi has accused both PPP and PML-N of disobeying the Supreme Court, claiming courts are being mocked.

“The Supreme Court has given a very clear decision in the Asghar Khan case but reluctance is showed in accepting it. It’s a sorry state of affairs,” he added while addressing a news conference. He maintained that earlier the court decision on dual nationality had taken place but about 400 MNAs and MPAs had not taken oath so far. He warned that the trend of disrespecting courts by the rulers would produce dire results.

Referring to Asghar Khan case decision, he said that just one verdict surfaced against PML-N and a highly controversial debate begun in the country. He added that he would have quit politics, if his name had been included in the list of beneficiaries.

He said a president of Pakistan neither take part in politics nor make political decisions in the light of the Constitution. “But Asif Ali Zardari considers himself beyond the Constitution. He should resign from one office forthwith,” he demanded. He claimed that Bhutto never acted on constitution despite giving the nation this document in 1973. He claimed that the behaviour of politicians encouraged dictators to occupy the throne.

He claimed that the politicians once again created constitutional crisis in the country on Supreme Court’s verdict on Asghar Khan Case so that no one could hinder their hand while looting national resources in future.  “Yet Mehran Bank Scandal is to follow. The politicians should prove themselves clear so that a clean leadership comes forth,” he added. To a question, he appealed to the Supreme Court to unveil all scandals in the large national interest. He added that utilisation of Article 6 against any one for breaching Constitution was the discretion of government.

He said that today the names of Gen (r) Aslam Baig and Asad Durrani were being discussed while it was impossible in the past.
