KARACHI  - Taking serious notice of the activities of extortionists in Karachi, Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad ordered stern action against the ‘parchi mafia’.Presiding over a high-level meeting in the Governor House, he said the curse of ‘parchi’ would not be tolerated in City. He asked that visible action should be taken against criminals without any fear or favour, so that the citizens should feel a sense of security in society. He said the prosecution department should be further strengthened to ensure that criminals get punishments as per law. Clifton Kidney and Dialysis Centre expands its services: The Clifton Kidney and Dialysis Centre has expanded its services by adding nine more dialysis machines. This was stated by an official of the facility here on Friday. He said that the centre was established five years ago and that it offered free hemodialysis and medical care for under-privileged patients, who were unable to afford this expensive treatment. This centre was started with just two machines and now was equipped with nine more dialysis machines.  The official added that the centre provided services, 24 hours a day and seven days a week, free of charge.He said that Mohammad Sajid Jokhio, Sindh Minister of Zakat and Ushr, performed the inauguration of the expanded and refurbished centre. The minister also visited its various sections and appreciated the facility of hemodialysis, emergency care, out-patient consultancy, nutritional therapy, physiotherapy, and music therapy provided to the kidney patients.Prof Iffat Yazdani, Consultant Nephrologist, gave a detailed briefing to the minister regarding the functioning of the centre.
