LAHORE - Punjab Governor Latif Khosa has refused to administer oath to the newly appointed Chairman of Punjab Public Service Commission, Safdar Javid Syed.
The governor had earlier twice rejected the summary sent to him by the chief minister regarding the said appointment citing legal reasons.
The Punjab govt, however, notified Syed’s appointment on Thursday overruling governor’s objections. Subsequently, the CM sent a summary to Khosa for administering oath to Syed, but Khosa on Friday expressed his inability to do so, saying he could not administer oath to an officer who did not fulfil the legal requirements.
