Rs10b released for Bahawalpur

BAHAWALPUR – The government has released Rs10 billion for the 316 development projects in Bahawalpur Division in the annual special development programme and is taking steps to complete development works within time. Bahawalpur Division Commissioner Muhammad Khan Khichi reviewed projects of education, health, labor, livestock and revenue departments throughout division.
It has been told in the meeting that 334.1m rupees are being spent on the 105 development projects in Bahawlpur District from which 17 projects are completed.
Similarly in Bahawalnagar District 302 million rupees are being spent on 92 developmental projects while in Rahim Yar Khan District 360m rupees are being spent on 119 projects and 27 projects are completed.
Commissioner Bahawalpur scolded relative officials for the slow work of local govt projects and directed them to complete the projects in the given time.
Commissioner directed that strict action will be taken against the use of sub standard material in the developmental projects.
It has been told in the meeting that Labour Colony consisting of 25 acre near the new Industrial Estate and a new social Security Hospital will be constructed in Rahim Yar Khan.
It has been told that all the revenue department record is being computerised at fast pace and in the first phase revenue record of 2 areas is computerized and the computerizing of revenue record of the whole Division will be completed by the end of next year.
It has been decided in the meeting that the land where schools are constructed will be transferred to the education department in the revenue record. The commissioner directed recovery of all the dues from people who are given land on lease by the department of Livestock.
