PR officer arrested on corruption charges

LAHORE - Pakistan Railways Police (PRP) has registered an FIR against Muhammad Ali Rajper, the former divisional superintendent Multan Division, over corruption charges.
The PRP in a statement said that Ali Rajper, during his tenor at Multan in 2011-12, illegally promoted class-iv staff, appointed TLA staff, changed cadre of the staff. Hence he misused his authority to permanent class-iv staff gang-men with the connivance of Malik Riaz (head clerk) and Sarfraz Khan (group inspector STEs). The victims submitted complaints to Railways minister and PRP IG and on direction of minister the IG appointed DSP Special branch to conduct enquiry, according to the PRP spokesperson.
“Around 30 victims recorded statements to DSP Special branch against corruption of Rajper, Malik Riaz and Sarfraz Khan and after enquiry report an FIR No.33/13, dated 25-10-2013 U/S 161/34 PPC, 5/2/47 PCA has been registered at Railway Police Station Multan,” the spokesperson added. It was informed that Rajper had been arrested from Lahore whereas Malik Riaz Head Clerk had been arrested from Multan.
