Islamabad - Election of College Management Committee for the session 2014-16 was held on Saturday at Islamabad Model Postgraduate College, H-8, Islamabad.

The election of the College Management Committee was held at the college responding to the policy of the Federal Directorate of Education. The College Management Committee was earlier known as Parents Teachers Association (PTA). The significance of the CMC cannot be overstated as it can contribute a lot to the wellbeing of our students.

Professor Riasat Ali Abbasi, nominated as General Secretary of CMC, outlined the scope of CMC in mobilising parents too for their constructive role of facilitating the youth and for providing their conducive and motivating atmosphere.

He said the CMC views our students as the central point whose academic and ethical wellbeing shall remain the supreme priority. Professor Izaharul Hassan Bokhari, Chief Election Commissioner, highlighted the objectives of the CMC which are to encourage enrolment of maximum students, take measures for quality improvement of education being imparted to the students, discourage dropout cases of the students and to jointly resolve any issue that can damage the process of learning at the College.

Principal, Professor Khurshid Ahmad Shakoori urged the parents to step forward for the qualitative improvement in the process of learning for students. He said that the character building and educational growth of our students lies in the hands of their teachers and parents. 

Professor Khurshid Ahmad Shakoori, principal of the college, elected as chairman of the committee, Syed Irtaza Haider Shirazi president representing parents of the students, Professor Riasat Ali Abbasi, General Secretary, Sher Zaman, Finance Secretary, Professor Atta Muhammad , Vice Principal Administration, and  Professor Syed Izhardul Hassan, Vice Principal as executive members, whereas Sher Zaman, Muhammad Aleem, Muhammad Amjad were elected as executive members representing parents of the students.
