Wah Cantt - Sir Syed Education Society is a real success story which was established 54 years ago and it is heartening to note that all its educational institutions have been imparting quality education at affordable cost to a large numbers of students hailing from Wah Cantt and its surrounding areas.
This was stated by Lt Gen Muhammad Ahsan Mahmood, HI (M), Chairman POF Board, while addressing the participants of prize distribution ceremony held at Sir Syed College Campus-I, Wah Cantt on Saturday as Chief Guest.
Chairman POF Board congratulated the teachers, students who won awards in recognition of their excellent performance during the year 2011-2012, 2013 & 2014 in various classes. Chairman POF Board remarked that acquisition of awards is reflection of the efforts of the students and their teachers. He urged the students and teachers to utilize modern techniques for acquiring knowledge which is available at a click of button at their door step.
Gone are the days when knowledge was beyond the access of students, in recent era the flow of information technology has played pivotal role to enhance the knowledge of young generation through internet free of cost. Chairman POF Board said that human resource in Pakistan is  unmatchable and our 111 million population is consisted of less than 25 years age of boys & girls. It is our basic duty to provide them opportunities so that they can serve the nation with dedication and devotion.
Lt Gen Muhammad Ahsan Mahmood, HI (M), Chairman POF Board stressed upon the management of Sir Syed Education Society to keep pace with modern teaching skills and utilize the huge infrastructure exist in shape of laboratories and other facilities so that they could compete with the private sector educational institutions which are progressing very rapidly.
Earlier, Mr.Shabbir Ahmed, President Sir Syed Education Society while presenting welcome address told the audience that presently 07 educational institutions are working under the management of Sir Syed Education Society and as many as 11,000 students are getting education whereas 500 teachers are imparting education to the young generation. All Schools are affiliated with Federal Education Board and it was worth mentioning that POF Model School was declared the best School all over the country in 2005 for two consecutive years Mr. Ubaid Ullah Arshad of Sir Syed College Campus-II got overall 1st position whereas Mr. Hammad Farooq got 2nd position & Ms Amna Azam of POF Model High School got 3rd position. He disclosed that ex-students of these educational institutions are serving in various departments as Engineers, Doctors and on other top positions. These Educational Institutions have always been showing excellent results in Federal Board Examinations since their inception.
In the end Lt Gen Muhammad Ahsan Mahmood, HI (M), Chairman POF Board distributed cash awards and certificates among talented students and teachers.
