LAHORE - Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera has taken notice of the regular traffic mess at the Suggian Bridge on the river Ravi, a police spokesperson said on Sunday.

The provincial police chief has directed Lahore Capital City Police Officer Muhammad Amin Wains to take up the issue with the traffic police and ensure smooth flow of traffic at the entry and exit points of Lahore. The IGP also asked the Lahore CCPO that the traffic lanes should be divided specifically for the heavy and light transports including trucks, buses, tractor-trolleys, cars, and motorcycles. He further directed that a separate lane should be marked for snap-checking of the vehicles, entering or leaving the provincial metropolis.

The Punjab police chief took the notice following numerous public complaints regarding worst and regular traffic mess at the entry and exit points of Lahore especially on the River Ravi. The police are also directed to take necessary steps to keep the traffic flow smooth as the traffic jumbles could be a security risk for the motorists.
