PESHAWAR - International golfer Taimur Naseer clinched the 47th Khyber Pakhtunkhwa National Ranking Amateur Golf Championship title with his gross score five over par 221 over 54-holes here at PAF Golf Club on Sunday.
Taimur, from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, was confident enough of winning the championship despite struggling at no 2 behind the leader on the first two-day of play over 36-holes where he carded 70, 74 and now added another 76 to his overnight 144. Tariq Mehmood of Navy slipped three strokes behind the winner with his gross score 224, eight over par by adding 80 to his overnight 74 and 70. Zeeshan Khan took third position with his gross score 226, 10 over par by adding 75 to his overnight 74 and 77.
In the net for Sir Bolten trophy, six handicapper Akbar Qayyum Bokhari of PGC with his net score 208, eight under par, was declared as winner while in ladies net, Ami Qin clinched the trophy with her net score 131. Col Syed Shahadat Hussain with his gross score 145 got winner trophy while in the net, Col Saud Khan (155) got first position. In the 10-18 net Hamza Khattak got first, while in gross, Tauqeer Kiani was first. In the boys U-15 net, Mobin earned the first position while in gross, Faizan Ali was first.
In U-18, Hafiz Zubair got first. In media putting competitions, Azmat Ullah got first position, followed by Col Nadeem and Ghani-ur-Rehman. At the end, chief guest Maj Gen M Abid Nazir, Commander Log Area, gave away trophies to the winners.
