QUETTA -  Scores of people, including shoppers, were injured in a cracker attack at a newspapers stall in Turbat on Thursday.

As per reports, unknown miscreants hurled a hand grenade at a stall of a news agency in Turbat, which exploded with a heavy bang. As a result, scores of people, including shoppers, present there were injured. The attackers ran away successfully after committing the crime.

It is not out of place to mention here that proscribed outfits had threatened media houses and journalists with dire consequences for not giving them coverage. They had also asked hawkers and shopkeepers not to sell newspapers.

Balochistan Governor Muhammad Khan Achakzai and Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Zehri strongly condemned the cracker attack at a newspaper stall in Turbat in which scores of people were wounded.

The governor warned nobody would be permitted to spread fear and anarchy in the society, adding the government would exploit all resources for the safety of the people.

Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Zehri directed the police to take concrete steps to protect media houses, hawkers, journalists and newspaper stalls.

APP adds: Unknown armed men shot dead a man and injured two women in Naal area on Thursday.

According to Levies sources, armed assailants entered a house of Muhammad Alam in Garok Chichak area and opened fire upon him and his family and fled away from the scene.

As a result, Muhammad Alam was killed on the spot while two women received injuries. The body and the injured were rushed to nearby hospital for medical aid.

The body of the deceased was handed over to the heirs after completion of legal formalities. Levies force registered a case and started investigation.
