ISLAMABAD (APP) - The National Assemblys Standing Committee on Investment here on Saturday recommended that the Special Economic Zones (SEZs) should be extended to the whole country. The Committee which met at the Parliament House under the Chairmanship of MNA, Dr. Ghulam Haider Samjeo also recommended that equal incentives should be provided to all the previous established industries and industrial zones like SEZ in the country. The Committee also recommended that the representatives of the Federal Board of Revenue, Ministry of Water and Power (WAPDA) and Ministry of Finance may also be invited for reviewing interaction and reconsideration on the draft frame-work of the SEZ Policy. The Secretary, Ministry of Investment briefed the Committee about the draft frame-work of Special Economic Zones Act which will be approved by the Standing Committee and submitted to the Parliament House and then Cabinet subsequently for the enactment and execution in the country. He told the Committee that the job of the BOI was to facilitate a proactive, conducive, progressive and excellent environment with reference to establish SEZ in the country.
