RAWALPINDI - On the special invitation of Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, a 30-member group of top position-holder boy students in annual SSC examination 2009 hailing from various boards of education on Saturday reached Murree on a four-day recreational and study tour of Murree and adjoining areas. On its arrival, a smartly turned out contingent of police presented a guard of honour to the top position holders at Govt House, Murree, as these students are honoured as state guests on the directives of the Chief Minister. Representing the Chief Minister Punjab, DCO of Rawalpindi Imdadullah Bosal, Director General of Protocol Punjab Asjad Ghani and Deputy Secretary of Education Shahid Iqbal congratulated the position holder students on their brilliant and tremendous success. They extended welcome to these students and presented bouquets to them. Punjab Police band played tunes of national and milli songs to extend warm welcome to the group of these position holder students. Addressing the guard of honour ceremony, the DCO said that talented, capable and hard-working students are valuable asset of the country. He added that Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif had specially ordered recreational and study tour for the top position holder students to encourage the cause of education and recognise the hard work of these talented students. Hundreds of position holder students of matriculation examination from Punjab and also from other provinces have so far been invited and visited Murree on a recreational visit and special ceremonies of guard of honour had been arranged for such students to honour them and recognized their hard work, he added. Imdadullah Bosal further said that due to special encouragement of the students, the spirit of moving forward and acquiring knowledge is increasing among them. He said that on account of special attention towards education sector by the government and encouragement of the students, the literacy rate and standard of education is increasing day by day. and the targets for improving the education system are being achieved because of joint efforts of all the concerned quarters. Director General of Protocol Asjad Ghanni on the occasion said that the recreational tour offered by the Chief Minister to the top position holders of matriculation and FA/FSc students is a memorable gift for them and students are encouraged more and more for better performance in their educational career. He informed that students would proceed to Bhurban in first phase of their visit and later they would visit Patriata, Ayubia, Nathiya Gali, Khanas Pur and special lunch and dinners including bonfire dinner would be arranged specially for these special state guests during their four day visit. Top position holder students, expressing their views on the occasion specially thanked Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif for getting arranged the recreational and study visit and said that they would forever remember the honour and the encouragement extended to them.
