They did it

Nicolae Ceausescu, the General Secretary of the Romanian Communist Party and President of Romania from 1974 until 1989, was overthrown on December 1989. According to wishes of the Romanian public, he along with his wife Elena, was sentenced to death and was shot following a two-hour televised case in a court of law that tried him on charges of illegal gathering of wealth and genocide. Had the fate of our ex-President Musharraf been the same, instead of the regal guard of honour he was given as a send off, the destination of this country and the future of our democracy would have been different. Its never too late to do the right thing. -DR. IRFAN ZAFAR, Islamabad, September 24.
