SPORTS DESK LAHORE Lahore Eagles defeated Abbottabad Falcon by 12 runs in the last match of the Faysal Bank National Twenty20 Cup at the National Stadium on Monday. Abbottabad needed 151 runs for victory were bowled out for 138 in the 19.3 overs. Junaid Zia 2/9, Mushtaq 2/24 and Taufiq Umar 2/16 bowled well from Lahore Eagles. Earlier, Lahore Lions scored 150 runs in the 20 overs. Imran Farhat (43), Taufeeq Umar (350, Azhar Ali (28) and Hamza Paracha (28) made good contributions in their teams total. Wajid got 2/7 bowled well from Abbottabad Falons. Karachi Zebras shocked Quetta Bears by 42 runs. Propelled by a fine half century from Khurram Manzoor (62 with 6x4 and 1x6), Zebras piled up 172 runs for the loss of five wickets in the 20 overs. Rameez Aziz, Akbar and Hassan Raza also made good contributions. Quetta Bears batsmen in replay failed to leave any impression and were bowled out for 128 all out in the 19th over. Danish Kaneria was the main destroyer who grabbed three wickets while Azam and Uzair grabbed two wickets each. Shoaib scored exactly 50 runs before being caught by Ali off Nasir. Faisal was not out at 28 and Shahid Yousaf made unbeaten 10. Batting first Hyderabad struggled against Sialkot Stallions bowlers and crashed out for 96 runs. Shahzad Haider (42) and Rizwan Ahmed (30) were the only batsmen who could reach the double figures.
