OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE A newborn baby opened eyes in Rescue-1122 ambulance near Jain Mandir minutes after a 35-year-old woman was being shifted to the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital on Monday. According to the Rescue 1122 spokesman, the Control Room of Emergency Service received an emergency call of delivery case from house (H-53 Muhammadi Kot Gulberge). The ambulance of Rescue 1122 responded to the emergency but when the ambulance was near a local filling station, the female patient Ms Asif gave birth to a baby child (female). Besides expressing the feelings of fervour, the staff of Rescue-1122 handled this emergency very professionally and afterward they were shifted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital for necessary medication and formalities. Rescue 1122 DG Dr Rizwan Naseer has congratulated the family on newborn besides appreciating the Rescue staff on performing their official duties amicably. Man gunned down: An alleged drunken man was gunned down by his neighbour whereas organized crime investigation agency CIA tortured six labourers in two separate incidents on Monday. According to details, the deceased Suhail Masih was abusing the elders of the area in state of unconsciousness in Naseerabad police precincts on Monday. Meanwhile, his neighbour youth Shahzad stopped him from doing so but to no avail. They practiced quarrel over the issue and even exchanged harsh words, another neighbor said, adding Shahzad opened straight bullets on Suhail, leaving him in the pool of blood. Later, he was shifted to the local hospital where the doctors pronounced him as dead. Police concerned also claimed to have arrested the accused and his father along with the weapon. The body was removed to the city morgue for autopsy. Earlier, CIA Misri Shah police went on rampage as they tortured some six laborers in iron market under unexplained circumstances. DSP CIA, however, maintained that the police were raiding in connection with a murder some 25 days back in the aforesaid area. Locals said police left them breathing only otherwise they left no stone unturned, which might led them towards deaths. They abused us and tortured us over no issue, one among the injured said. The laborer union president and other office bearers including Muhammad Younus, Latif, Muhammad Ali, Salamat and others complained against the savageness of the police. They have appealed to the IGP, Chief Minister and Chief Justice to take notice of the police torture and provide them justice. Mother of police officer dies: Mother of a police inspector Muhammad Ghiaz Sheikh, currently attached to SSP Discipline and Vigilance in CCPO Office, died on Monday.
