Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has regularised more than 50,000 contractual employees of National Programme for Family Planning and Primary Healthcare.

The Punjab Health Department has issued a notification in this regard. Punjab Secretary Health Jawad Rafique Malik said that services of all these employees had been regularised from July 1, 2012. He said that the Lady Health Supervisors had been given BPS-7, the Lady Health Workers BPS-5 and drivers BPS-4. The Punjab health director general has issued instructions to all EDOs Health and DOs Health to immediately issue by-name orders of regularization of workers of National Programme for Family Planning and Primary Healthcare.

PORTABLE X-RAY FACILITY AT LGH: The Lahore General Hospital administration has provided the facility of portable X-Ray machines to the dengue patients. Doctors, nurses and paramedics will perform duties at dengue counter established at Emergency during the Eid ul Azha holidays.

Chairing a meeting of administrative doctors on Friday, Principal Prof Anjum Habib Vohra said that social organisations, media and religious scholars had worked a lot for creating public awareness about precautionary measures against dengue.

Prof Agha Shibir Ali, MS Dr Pervez Imtiaz, Director Emergency Dr Munawar Ali, AMS Dr Munaza Kokab and other senior doctors attended the meeting.

Prof Anjum Habib Vohra urged people associated with medical field to focus on polio eradication like dengue. He expressed satisfaction over cleanliness and environment in the hospital. He said that training workshops and seminars would be arranged under health education program.
