7th grader makes use of useless things

KAMALIA-Young student Saqlain Haider has built a solar-powered fan using parts that people usually throw away such as a plastic bottle, CD drive motor, cellphone battery and a small solar panel.
He is a student of seventh grade at Government High School 715/GB. His tutors, School Principal Saeed Ahmed and Class In-charge Riaz Nadeem encouraged and guided him in the project. His tutors said that there is no shortage of talent even in rural areas of the country; young students only need some guidance and encouragement to tap their full potential.
They said that British Council has started a programme for talent hunt across the country which is highly appreciable, the same programme should be continued in future to promote students at a young age. Talking about his passion for building new things, Saqlain said that he has been building small projects since his childhood. He attributed his success to the guidance and encouragement of his teachers and prayers of parents.
