Rawalakot bomb blast amidst border tension and IWT meeting

Rawalakot: A bomb blast occurred at a Police station in Rawalakot which destroyed the wall of a nearby school. Reports regarding casualty and impact are at initial stage.   This coincided with firing between Pakistani and Indian forces on Rawalakot sector.

Tensions are high between India and Pakistan after the impending diplomatic rivalry on Kashmir issue and Uri attack. Senior Indian officials met Modi regarding the review plan of Indus water treaty. Modi directed the work on dams located on rivers, which serve as source of water to Pakistan, to be accelerated. This impedes flow of water on Chenab river which crosses the Baglihar dam.

Opposition parties in the Pakistan National assembly have passed a resolution which condemned Indian act of aggression on part which led to blockage of water.
