PESHAWAR At least 13 militants were killed and 26 others were arrested during the ongoing military operation against the militants in various parts of the tribal areas and settled districts of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa here on Tuesday. According to details, Matiullah, son of leader of banned Tehrik-i-Nifaz Shariat-i-Muhammadi (TNSM) Maulana Sufi Muhammad from Nawa Kalay, an area of Temirgara, Lower Dir, was also arrested by security forces. Apart from this, three important commanders were also arrested from the district along with 26 other militants. 13 militants were killed during clashes with security forces in Aurakzai and Khyber agencies. According to the sources, security forces killed 8 militants in various parts of lower Aurakzai Agency. Five militants were arrested from Mishee. On the other hand in Akakhel area of Tehsil Bara, Khyber Agency, five militants were killed and 18 others arrested that included two ring commanders of the militants. The security forces also set up checkpoints at Zada, Uplan, Balandar and FR Darra Adamkhel. In the Central Kurrum Agency, the security forces successfully held militant commander Saleem Khan, who is told to be the close aide of Hakimullah Mehsud.
