ABBOTTABAD Three key leaders of Pakistan Muslim League (Quaid), two Members Provincial Assembly and a Senator hailing from Abbottabad and Mansehra, voiced strong support for Tehreek-e-Hazara on Tuesday. The Members of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Qalander Lodhi from Abbottabad and Wajih-uz-Zaman from Mansehra along with Senator Mrs Fakhar-uz-Zaman, mother of MPA Wajih-uz-Zaman, met Quaid-e-Tehreek-e-Hazara Sardar Haider Zaman and announced to proactively join Tehreek-e-Hazara. The aforementioned leaders offered to resign from party as well as their legislative memberships during the same meeting. However, Sardar Haider Zaman asked the leaders to continue with their party and public offices and wait for the right time to resign. Quaid-e-Tehreek has asked us to wait for the right time to resign. He said when the time would come, all the loyal sons of soil would rise for Hazara, said MPA Qalander Lodhi while talking to this scribe here on Tuesday. The MPA confirmed that he and Wajih-uz-Zaman had offered unconditional and proactive support for the Tehreek and discussed the future plan of action. This is a public movement and if we detach ourselves from such a noble cause, we would be left with nothing but embarrassment and insult. Its the cause of people of Hazara and everyone has to play his part in it, he added. Commenting on the future line of action of Tehreek-e-Hazara, Qalander said that Tehreek had decided to hold one shutter down protest in a week owing to the ongoing examinations of school children. Children are having their exams, so, right now, we would observe only one shutter down strike every Sunday in order to facilitate them. We would continue this policy till May 16 and launch another plan of action after that, he added. The MPA categorically criticised the renaming of NWFP saying, After 63 years they woke up to changing a historical name, only to push the province into ethnic divide, chaos and unrest. These people are not sincere with the country and the province, he said referring to ANP-backed controversial renaming of the province. Meanwhile, after a detailed meeting that started on Monday evening and continued late night, Hazara Action Committee (HAC) announced new schedule in course of struggle for the formation of Hazara province. According to newly devised course of action, a complete shutter down strike would be observed across Hazara region comprising five districts including Abbottabad, Haripur, Mansehra, Batgram and Kohistan. In addition, a huge public procession is going to take place in Balakot today (Wednesday). According to new strategy, the focus would be to arrange public gatherings in the suburbs of Hazara region besides the cities. The new scheduled was laid out on April 26 after the ten-day previous action plan devised on April 16 expired on Monday. Meanwhile, two victims of April 12 protest incidents who were seriously injured by straight firing of Peshawar Police succumbed to injuries. The deceased included a 23-year-old youth from Mansehra and a 24-year-old from Abbottabad identified as Yasir. The ANP government is responsible for these deaths, as many as 20 innocent youths lost their lives in the peaceful protests which they (police) turned violent but the Provincial Government has not bothered to utter a word of condolence, or tender a public apology, said Sardar Haider Zaman while talking to TheNation. He welcomed the support shown for Tehreek-e-Hazara by Qalander Lodhi, Wajih-uz-Zaman and Mrs Fakhar-uz-Zaman. People and their elected representatives are rising and Tehreek is gaining strength with each passing day, he added.
