LAHORE The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has appointed Muhammad Hassan Baloch as coach of the national U-14 team. Pakistan will take on host Iran, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Nepal, India, Maldives, Afghanistan in the South Asian Zone of AFC U14 Festival of Football at Iran from May 10-23. Hassan showed dedication and ability as coach in recent years and he rose to the limelight when his team Karachi Yellow won PFF U14 Youth Cup on December 18, 2007 in Faisalabad. It will be Hassans first international assignment as coach of a Pakistani team. Son of Haji Pir Bakhsh Baloch, Hassan coached Karachi Green to clinch Quaid-i-Azam Divisional Cup at Lahore 1994 and he was also coach of Sindh teams in National Games at Karachi 1997, 2007, Lahore 2001 and Quetta 2004. Karachi-born Hassan, who will celebrate his 55th birthday on July 5 2010, represented Pakistan University, Sindh Red and Karachi from 1980-1987 but his main team in those years was KESC whom he represented from 1982-1994. He took over coaching assignment in same organizational team as soon as he hangs up his boots, taking KESC to A-Division soccer -finishing runners up to Railways in PFF League 2005.
