Another measles patient dies




LAHORE -

Another measles patient died on Saturday while 117 more infected children were brought to Lahore hospitals. Muhammad Ehsan, 2, a resident of Garhi Shahu, breathed his last at Lahore General Hospital. Despite tall claims of caretakers, the epidemic could not be brought under control as patients keep pouring in Punjab and Sindh hospitals. The government has decided to launch nationwide vaccination from June.
PIC arrears
Wapda has assured Punjab Institute of Cardiology of paying Rs25 million outstanding in installments. Assurance was given at a meeting chaired by Chief Executive PIC Prof Bilal Zakria Saturday to review provision of health facilities to the Wapda employees. Prof Nadeem Hayyat Malik, Prof Shahnawaz, MS Wapda Hospital Dr Iftikhar, Secretary Medical Board Dr Imtiaz Qureshi and Director Welfare Dr Nasir Jaffri attended the meeting. The participants reached to a settlement regarding installments to clear outstanding dues of Rs25 million.
